Thousands of natural limestone pillars rise out of the yellow desert sands to create a truly unique landscape known as the Pinnacles Desert. Departing Perth we travel through the charming township of Guildford rich with history, then onto the scenic Swan Valley, one of Western Australia’s premier wine growing regions. A short stop at the Caversham Wildlife Park enables us to feed Kangaroo’s, cuddle wombats and enjoy a variety of other Australian wildlife. Continuing north we travel through WA’s golden paddocks of wheat before reaching the peaceful fishing town of Cervantes where we enjoy a picnic lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is spent in the desert sands of Numbung National Park, home to the breathtaking natural landscape of the Pinnacles. Experience an atmosphere of mystery wandering through the limestone pillars resembling the ruins of an ancient city. In season, the surrounding bushland boasts hundreds of species of spectacular wildflowers including WA’s own kangaroo paws.
