Coral Bay is situated 1132kms north of Perth, 153 kms south of Exmouth and 227 north west of Carnarvon. Coral Bay is the southern gateway to the 260 kilometre long Ningaloo Reef. What started off as a quiet 'hideaway', has over the last 40 years become one of Western Australia's most popular tourist destinations with its unique marine environment, diverse flora and fauna, and idyllic, isolated location. Coral Bay is a safe swimming area for children. Crystal clear water and at times, within metres from the shoreline, you can experience swimming amongst tropical fish and over coral reefs. Coral Bay's weather, similar to Exmouth's tropical climate, is a great feature of the area. In Summer the average maximum temperature is 37°C with an average minimum temperature of 20°C. In Winter the average maximum temperature is 24°C with an average minimum temperature of 11°C. Surface water temperatures range from 26-31°C in Summer (December - March) and 19-24°C in Winter. A variety of accommodation is available at Coral Bay, ranging from unpowered tent sites to self contained units and motel accommodation. Booking early is advisable.
