It is the longest jetty in the north west and was onced used as a deep sea port for the shipment of local produce and wool in Perth. There is a muesum along side the jetty. Museum admission is by a Gold coin donation. View the Gascoyne River mouth, mangrove and marine life, migrating birds and jetty activity.

Tramway and Townwalk Trail - Ride one of our trains from the end of the One Mile Jetty all the way into the centre of town. The "Kimberley" steam train operates on a seasonal basis (June to Sept) and the "Banana Clipper" and the "Coffee Pot" complete the trio for the rest of the year. A 2.5km walk trail runs the length of the tramway allowing close observation of the flora of the region through interpretive signage.

Blowholes - Located 71km north of Carnarvon. Powerful ocean waves are forced through sea
caves and jets of water are forced up into the air to heights of 20 metres, producing a spectacular sight.

One kilometre south lies a protected beach surrounded by coral reef. A small pool adjacent to the island contains tropical fish and shells.

Beware of King Waves when visiting any of the coastline locations

H.M.A.S. “Sydney” Memorial Cairn - Follow the signs from the Blowholes to the memorial located 7km further north.

OTC Dish  - One of the landmarks of Carnarvon is the ‘Big Dish’ a 29.5 metre diameter reflector which was the first antenna in Australia to transmit and receive world-wide television via satellite. The OTC Dish Base on Brown's Range, Carnarvon was the site of Australia's first earth station for satelite tracking and communications, and one of just eight in the world. It was an integral part of the communications network for the Apollo Moon Programme and was used for tracking Halley’s Comet. The site was closed in 1987 but a drive around the base offers views of the town and plantations.

Mount Augustus - 450 kilometres inland from Carnarvon you come to Mount Augustus — the world’s largest monolith, twice the size of Ayer’s Rock. Coach tours are available from Carnarvon and pass through dramatic scenery and remarkable specimens of geology.

The area supports both handline and game fisherman and the most popular spot is the Prawn Jetty on Babbage Island. Mulloway and big Tailor are year round catches, with Pink Snapper, Bream, Shark, Mackerel and Tuna available accordiing to season and conditions. Blue Manna and Mangrove crabs are also plentiful in the region

Lighthouse Keepers Cottage Museum - Was built around 1900 as the home of the lighthouse keeper and his family and was used until the 1970's when the lighthouse became electric. It is located on Babbage Island near the One Mile Jetty and is open to the public.

The Coast - Between the Blow holes, Point Quobba through to Gnarloo Station is well worth viewing. The road is not sealed but can be accessed with a 2WD vehicle though a 4WD vehicle is recommended. This stretch of coast is virtually untouched providing spectacular views of Cape Cuvier and exceptional fishing. At 3 Mile Camp and Gnarloo Bay you will find pristine beaches with excellent coral outcrops.
